Blejska koča na Lipanci is a beautiful mountain hut located on the Pokljuka plateau in the Julian Alps, above Lake Bled in Slovenia. Sitting at around 1,700 meters above sea level, it offers one of the most rewarding yet relatively easy hiking experiences in this part of the Alps.

The most common starting point for the hike is Rudno polje on Pokljuka. From there, the trail is well-marked and gradually climbs through dense spruce forests. The path is not technically demanding, which makes it suitable for beginners, families, and anyone looking for a peaceful mountain escape without very steep or dangerous sections.

As you ascend, the forest slowly opens up and you begin to feel more of the alpine atmosphere. The final part of the hike leads you into open mountain meadows, where Blejska koča na Lipanci is located. This is where the views really start to open up and the scenery becomes more impressive.

From the hut, you get amazing panoramic views of the Julian Alps. On clear days, you can see iconic peaks such as Triglav, Viševnik, and many surrounding ridges and valleys. It’s a great place to rest, have a meal, and enjoy the mountain atmosphere before deciding whether to return or continue towards nearby peaks.

Blejska koča is also a popular starting point for longer hikes. More experienced hikers often continue their journey towards Viševnik or other routes across Pokljuka, making it a flexible destination depending on your fitness and time.

The area is especially beautiful in summer and autumn when the landscape is full of green meadows or warm golden colors. In winter, the route transforms into a snow-covered landscape that is popular for ski touring and snowshoeing, although it requires proper equipment and experience due to winter conditions.

Overall, Blejska koča na Lipanci is one of the best easy-access alpine hikes in Slovenia. It combines a peaceful forest trail, stunning mountain views, and the authentic experience of a traditional Slovenian mountain hut.
