Brana Near the Summit in the Slovenian Alps is one of the most impressive sections of the entire hike. As you approach the top, the trail becomes more exposed and rocky, offering increasingly dramatic views across the Kamnik-Savinja Alps.
One of the highlights of this section is the view towards Planjava, which is clearly visible along the ridge and adds to the feeling of being surrounded by high alpine peaks. The scenery opens up even more, giving a strong sense of scale and direction within the Kamnik-Savinja mountain range.
Difficulty: Moderate to challenging
This section requires careful footing due to steep and uneven terrain. It is physically more demanding, especially in exposed alpine conditions.
Experience: A truly scenic alpine ridge section with wide panoramic views, rugged mountain atmosphere, and a strong sense of elevation and openness just below the summit. The view towards Planjava makes this part of the hike even more special.
Recommended: Move carefully on rocky terrain, use trekking poles for stability, and take breaks when needed. Weather can change quickly at higher altitude, so proper clothing and awareness are important.
