Kamnik Saddle is one of the most beautiful alpine hiking destinations in Slovenia, located in the heart of the Kamnik–Savinja Alps between the impressive peaks of Brana and Planjava. The hike usually begins in Kamniška Bistrica and follows a scenic mountain trail through forests, rocky terrain, and steep alpine sections before reaching the famous mountain hut beneath the saddle.

The trail is considered moderately difficult and is best suited for hikers with proper hiking equipment and good fitness. Hiking shoes with solid grip are highly recommended, together with hiking poles, enough water, layered clothing, and a windproof jacket since mountain weather can change quickly.

Kamnik Saddle offers incredible panoramic views of the surrounding Slovenian Alps, dramatic mountain walls, and beautiful alpine scenery. The mountain hut is a perfect place to rest and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of one of Slovenia’s most iconic alpine hiking locations.
